Should bees really not be able to fly?
Sabado, Hunyo 7, 2008

Okay!

I, too, is wondering if this is really true! That bees should not be able to fly. According to some scientists, they are violating the Law of Aerodynamics.

And to some poets/writers, though it's impossible for them to, having no knowledge of its impossibility, they tried and persevere, so now, they succeed!

  • Is ignorance an exception to physical laws?
The answer is a big NO!
Even when we were still kids, being not aware of the law of gravity, we were still subjected to follow the law. Wait, did I say to follow? Actually, we are not following physical laws, that's why it is not important for us to know these laws to be its subject. Although we would attempt to violate these laws, we could not, because physical laws are absolute and they apply universally.

Physicists, as what do others think of, did not make these laws. They just studied, be able to discover and explain them to us. Not to follow but to understand how do things around us, work. These laws are already here since the very beginning of time.

  • But if they're not, then who is the author of these laws?
The Author is the Divine Creator, and no one else!
So, He is the only one who can bend it but He is far far Intelligent than us, He would not be needing to. For His knowledge is eminent, there are things He knows He can do, far better than we could imagine, without violating His laws. For we, men, who cannot explain nor understand His works, called them miracles.

  • So, should bees not be able to fly?
We know they can fly so they should. Not because we cannot explain things they should not happen.

  • Do bees violate the law of aerodynamics?

They--with some other insects--don't violate the law of aerodynamics. But the same understanding as to birds' and airplanes' are not appropriate to them because there are some other factors we have to consider, like the manner/movement of their wings which are different to birds' and airplanes'. The capabilities of man to study these are limited. So, as of now, they are mysterious but definitely it's not magic.

The law of gravity. When 2 things of different size/weight dropped from the top of the building at the same time will land on the ground exactly at the same time, too. If you'll try it, say, drop a 4-kilogram stone and 1 piece of a table napkin. Without knowing the law, we can draw a conclusion that the stone will reach the ground 1st for the reason that it weighs more.

Well, actually we have done this in our physics class in 3rd yr high school. Our hypothesis is the same as above and it turned out to be right, the stone reached the ground first. But according to our teacher, our reasoning is wrong. The true reason why did the stone reach the ground first is that, though the law of gravity applies, there are some other factors to consider. The pressure of the air for example. It slowed down the fall of the napkin, actually the wind have flown it outside the campus. hehe! So Same things apply to the bees vs. aerodynamics quotation, there are lots of other things we have to consider.

The Inspirational Quotes

Some people make poems or writings to inspire people which are sometimes illogical or without concrete basis. They do not sometimes give a damn to logic for those they are attending to are people who are emotionally low who maybe are turning illogical and can be easily tricked. Their instentions are good. But remember, the end does not justify the mean! It is not good to inspire people and then making them ignorant of the fact as a consequence.

I hope that after you inspire people, and after they had recover from their emotional fall, you'll let them know the truth behind of it.
